Runway Frenzy! Ft. Christina!

What’s poppin’ vibers!

Woah, it’s been a fat minute. I hope y’all are listening to my song suggestions and falling in love with some of them as long as any new genres or artists that were introduced to you! But let me ask you guys, do you ever look at somebody and immediately they just remind you of a song? Maybe it’s what they’re wearing, or the sound of their voice or simply just their personality traits.

Well, this week’s blog post differs a tiny bit from what I usually present to my readers - for the time I’ve been inactive, I’ve been working with the amazing Christina from

https://bytes-bites.blogspot.com/, (which you should definitely check out after reading) Christina writes all about the gaming world and some of her favorites - just like I do with music, but instead in the gaming world! So I thought, how cool would it be to combine our blog ideas and do a mini collaboration with two things that almost nobody from our audiences can say no to; Great music and fun video games!

So, as Christina and I met, we settled on the proposal to present each other with characters, and songs, of our choice. Afterwards, we would have to do our own research using what we do best - to find a character or a song to match each of the three we gave to each other. Almost like we’re preparing them for the runway and they need some killer background music to fit the video game’s character’s aura!

Finally digging into the fun stuff, let’s get started with a character Christina introduced me to; Princess Zelda. A wise and very caring soul who sacrifices herself for the good of others. She saves the lives of others and is also very strong, confident and resilient - because of all of this, her wisdom is her most valuable asset/trait - So I believe the most perfect “runway” song that would suit Princess Zelda is..

“King” by Lauren Aquilina.

Funny how she’s a princess and the song is called King haha. I really love this song because it’s just such a simple song with little words but so much meaning, just like the lyrics..

“You’re so much more, you can reclaim your crown”. The singer encourages to be strong, fight, survive - and that’s a message I feel is strongly portrayed when one is filled with wisdom, just as Zelda is.

Second, appearing on the red velvet (lol) carpet to be glorified in great music is …

Drum roll…. KIRBY! Yes, the amazing little pink Kirby! If you know anything in the slightest about Kirby,  you would know how cheerful and happy he is. Which is exactly why I picked an old, very loveable classic - “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. I know, I know Kirby is a male character so he wouldn’t be a queen, but if you ever listened to this song… You just can’t help but smile or start dancing! The lyrics that make it so hard to not sing a lot, the fast beat that makes you sway, everything about the song makes anyone happy and smile like me, which is the same effect Kirby has on his friends and loved ones.

Ladies and Gentleman, the third and very last character I will be granting a song to tonight will be a character I find very interesting. Sephiroth, from Final Fantasy 7, is the game's antagonist, but also an angel with only one wing. Starting off almost as a decent guy, but becoming power obsessed - gamers see a whole new side of Sephiroth when his blood turns bad; making "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift an excellent couple. The 2024 Album of the Year winner's song speaks on hurt, betrayal, having a tension with somebody - just as Sephiroth is betrayed by one of his so-called best friends, Genesis, in FF7. Resulting in the character not being able to tell what is real and what is not. The pain-felt words of Taylor, link great with Sephiroth's aggression and vengeance filled attitude.

Please give a well deserved round of applause for our lovely contestants tonight, rocking the red carpet with some good music too! Also, huge thanks to Christina for making this blog post possible and giving me such fun video game characters to work with. Like I said, Christina's Blogspot is so awesome so make sure y'all pay Bytes-bites a visit. Until next my next post, keep thinking of other genres of music I have not touched based with yet and let me know what you wanna see! Stay tuned for a very popular and booming genre that grew for the best in the past decade... R&B.
